Schedule Your madVR ConsultationHow We Use madVR
madVR Envy is the reference video processor we deploy in dedicated reference theatres — central to our home theatre design and installation, and home theatre overall.
madVR across Southern Georgian Bay
madVR Envy video processors live in dedicated theatres across Collingwood, Blue Mountains, and Thornbury. Our reference theatre builds in lower-level walkouts of Mountaincroft and Castle Glen homes typically include an Envy in the rack. Larger Pretty River Estates and Lora Bay theatres land on Envy Extreme MK2 for full HDR-to-SDR tone mapping at native projector resolution.
We do not specify madVR for media rooms or great room AV. Envy belongs in dedicated theatre builds where projector calibration and HDR handling are the top priorities — typically the same projects that include JVC NZ-series laser projection and Stewart screens.
madVR product lines we deploy
- madVR Envy MK2 — Reference HDR-to-SDR tone mapping processor
- madVR Envy Pro MK2 — Mid-tier Envy with full madVR feature set
- madVR Envy Extreme MK2 — Top-tier Envy with maximum processing headroom
- madVR dynamic tone mapping — Frame-by-frame HDR optimisation for projectors
- madVR motion smoothing — Optional frame interpolation tuned for cinema content
- Envy aspect-ratio control — Automatic anamorphic and CinemaScope handling
Where we use madVR
madVR Envy is reserved for dedicated theatre projects in Collingwood, Blue Mountains, and Thornbury where the projector handles HDR poorly compared to OLED reference displays. The Envy fixes that gap — tone mapping HDR sources for the projector's native gamut and brightness, frame by frame. We pair the Envy with JVC NZ900 laser projection and Stewart Studiotek screens on most reference theatre builds in lower-level walkouts of larger Mountaincroft and Castle Glen homes.
On a typical 9-seat dedicated theatre near Lora Bay, the Envy sits between Kaleidescape Strato and the projector, handling all HDR-to-SDR conversion and aspect-ratio switching. Crestron or Control4 manages the room around it. The Envy is invisible in operation — owners see better picture, not another remote.
